Tayside Christian Fellowship (TCF) is delighted to be hosting a Coffee Morning in support of Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and the work of the Perth Debt Centre (PDC). We’d love you to join us for coffee, traybakes, cakes, and stalls with items for sale — all in aid of helping local people in Perth and the surrounding area find freedom from the weight of debt.
Why It Matters Here In Perth
For many households across our city, debt has become a daily struggle. Rising living costs, unexpected bills, and reduced incomes have left people feeling trapped, anxious, and alone. It’s in these moments that CAP’s Perth Debt Centre steps in.
- Local reach: Together with donations from local donors PDC is run in partnership with six churches in Perth — including TCF — and offers free, face-to-face debt help to anyone who needs it.
- Practical support: Trained Debt Coaches sit with clients at their kitchen tables, helping to build budgets, negotiate with creditors, and put a clear plan in place.
- Restoring hope: More than just numbers on a page, clients find someone who listens, prays, and walks with them through what can feel like a very dark valley.
As one Perth client recently shared with PDC:
“Before CAP, I didn’t see a way forward. Now I can breathe again, and I feel like I’ve got my life back.”

The Difference Your Coffee Makes
By joining us on the 6th of September, you’ll be helping CAP’s Perth team continue to:
- Sit down with families across Perthshire who are choosing between heating their homes and putting food on the table.
- Support single parents who feel crushed by debt and isolated in their struggles.
- Bring hope to those at breaking point — offering not just financial expertise but genuine friendship and care.
Last year alone, dozens of people in Perth connected with PDC for help. Each pound raised helps make it possible for another neighbour to step onto the journey towards becoming debt free.
More Than Fundraising
The Coffee Morning is about more than money. It’s a chance for us, as a church family and community, to stand together in solidarity with those in Perth facing hardship. Over coffee and cake, we’ll be reminded that hope is possible, change is real, and God is at work right here in our city.
