One Hope Ladies Breakfast

For a number of years now, ladies from churches around Perth have gathered a couple of times a year for food and fellowship on a Saturday morning.  The latest Bank holiday weekend in May was no exception.

Making your way to, on this occasion, Perth Baptist Church it seemed as though the whole of Perth was in bed, apart from a few early morning runners.  That is until you approached the church.

It was once again a packed church hall with around 80 women catching up with old friends and making new ones at the same time.  As always, the food lovingly prepared by volunteers was bountiful, colourful and, above all, delicious!

The scene was set and the women were ready for a packed hour of thought provoking presentations, followed by discussion. It started with a book review and a personal testimony of one lady’s journey of faith.

Then the main speaker Rachel Ray, a former OMF missionary worker for 11 years in the Philippines, challenged the women in the hall to first look at the temptations Jesus faced in Luke chapter 4 and then in group discussion, consider the similarities and differences of how we deal with Satan’s temptations in our daily lives.

The group discussions which followed at each table were lively if the volume was anything to go by!  It was, once again, an opportunity to listen, share and to learn as the bonds between the women grew stronger.

We are looking forward to hosting the next One Hope Ladies Breakfast on Saturday 23 November at Tayside Christian Fellowship.

Just for the record, the men at TCF also hold their own breakfast fellowships and we look forward to sharing their experiences in the future on this website!
